Would your life, and the world, be better with more empathy? You’re invited to a deep dive on empathy, learning how to make it grow and along the way meeting new friends who are also interested in developing empathy.

Join Dr. Anabel Jensen -- psychologist and co-founder of Six Seconds Emotional Intelligence Network -- to become a “self-scientist”™ to study empathy. Join Anabel with a guest co-host, and a dedicated community live-online to discover the heart of empathy. Each month you’ll read and discuss a book together and consider: How can we apply and practice empathy? Are there lessons from neuroscience that can teach us more about empathy?

Beyond a book club, EmpathyLab is a virtual community where you’ll share your own expertise, discover solutions and laugh with friends. In celebration of 25 years growing the world’s emotional intelligence, Six Seconds is delighted to offer this special series with you. Enrollment is limited and monthly sessions include:

  • Live-online meeting to explore new books with expert insights
  • Experiments to practice growing and sharing empathy
  • Community of friends to support the journey
  • Spotlight and donation to special guest host’s favorite non-profit

EmpathyLab #2 With Co-Host Dr Susan Charles, Dir. Admin Services, Notre Dame de Namur University

Humor, Seriously: Why Humor Is a Secret Weapon in Business and Life (And how anyone can harness it. Even you.)

By Jennifer Aaker

FROM AMAZON: We are living through a period of unprecedented uncertainty and upheaval in both our personal and professional lives. So it should come as a surprise to exactly no one that trust, human connection, and mental well-being are all on the decline. This may seem like no laughing matter. Yet, the research shows that humor and laughter are among the most valuable tools we have at our disposal for strengthening bonds and relationships, diffusing stress and tension, boosting resilience, and performing when the stakes are high. .
