Welcome to APAC Connect & Learn for October 2026, a practical and interactive session where we meet to explore how EQ plays a key role in supporting us increasing mental wellbeing, in recognition of World Mental Health Day (Oct 10).
The latest data from our State of the Heart Research showed an alarming trend: we’re in an emotional recession, a sustained global decline in the emotional and relational capacities that fuel wellbeing, connection, and resilience. As many of us live in a world consumed by big, intense emotions, from utter despair to burning rage, it’s no wonder stress, anxiety, and depression have become daily companions.
How can we then move out of the emotional recession and, as a result, increase our mental wellbeing? Research has shown 8 key areas of practice utilizing the skills of emotional intelligence that not only support us surviving the emotional recession but also thriving.
Join us for this Connect and Learn session to discover a simple yet powerful workout plan that you could use right away, to strengthen mental wellbeing for yourself and others.

Connect and Learn are FREE monthly interactive workshops on various topics organized on the first Thursday each month for all current and new members in our network to meet and practice EQ with each other.
At Six Seconds we believe “wisdom lives within”. Unlike some workshops where the “trainer” explains and participants listen, here we’re going to all learn and teach together. Please note the following agreements as you join our event:
- Be on time to get the most out of the session
- Turn on your camera to be fully present and engaged
- Listen to what other people say with their words and their feelings.
- Value all emotions experienced
- Respect the person sharing their ideas even when in disagreement
- Share talking time with others by keeping comments simple, brief, and focused on the topic presented
