Coaching Teams, Not Just Individuals: Practical EQ Tools for High-Impact Group Coaching Connections

What happens to your coaching when the client isn’t a person — it’s a team? And what if the biggest lever for change isn’t individual behavior, but the emotional climate of the group?

Most coaches are trained for one-on-one conversations — but organizations increasingly need people who can shift the dynamics of entire teams. Team coaching requires a different set of muscles: reading group patterns, navigating competing emotions, and creating the conditions for trust and collaboration. In this session, we’ll explore how emotional intelligence provides a powerful, evidence-based framework for diagnosing what’s really happening inside a team and facilitating meaningful change.

Using Six Seconds’ Team Vital Signs (TVS) framework — with trust at its center — we’ll walk through how to assess a team’s emotional climate and use that data to design interventions that actually stick. You’ll see a real-world example from Siemens Healthineers, where this approach led to a 139% increase in highly engaged leaders. Whether you’re already working with teams or want to expand your practice, this session gives you a repeatable framework to offer high-impact team interventions grounded in EQ.

Key Take-Aways

  1. From Individual to System: Understand the key differences between 1:1 coaching and team coaching, and learn how to read group emotional patterns using the TVS framework.
  2. Trust as the Central Lever: Discover how trust sits at the heart of team performance — and how to use EQ-based tools to diagnose and rebuild it when it’s eroding.
  3. A Repeatable Team Reset Process: Walk away with a practical framework for running an EQ-powered team reset — from assessment to action — that you can use with your clients tomorrow.

This isn’t a typical talking-heads webinar — we’ll collaborate, practice, and learn together with coaches and consultants from around the world. Bring along a colleague or friend to extend the learning and enrich post-session conversations.

Who Should Join?

Coaching Connections is for coaches, consultants, and facilitators working with teams or cross-functional groups — or those who want to start. Whether you’re new to coaching or advancing your ICF accreditation (Level 1 ACC, Level 2 PCC, or Level 3 MCC), this session will give you practical tools to expand your impact. Most EQ Pros want to offer team interventions but lack a repeatable framework — this session is designed to change that.
